Oh what a week it has been so far! The weekend was exhausting, and I had to take monday morning off just to be able to face the week and feel productive at work! Now when it seems things are calming down after addressing the craziness and resting, crazy weather flows down.
I love thunderstorms, but last night was a crazy mix of flashes, booms, and way too much pitter pattering. The good thing is we are no longer in a drought. The bad thing is all of the flooded streets that were left behind. Today I had a doctor's appointment in The Woodlands, and on the way there it took me just a bit longer than the usual 45 minutes. No problem.
Then...oh then, I headed back southbound. It took me 2.5 hours to go 5 miles. At one point 45 was just one lane because the water was so high over the road. This made for interesting people watching as I passed cars, as well as good time for catching on some of my podcasts. Talk about exhausting though...I haven't been in traffic that bad since Hurricane Ike. Actually I think it was better then. I have never had quite that one on one time with me, Mushu, and the concrete fumes ever before in my life. And I have to say, as much as I passed the time fairly well, it is not something I really ever want to experience again.
