Hobby Lobby Therapy

Besides the outdoors, wandering around Hobby Lobby is my second favorite place.  The music is soothing, and I usually end up filling in the words to the hymns as the piano or violin music streams above.  The home goods area is filled with inspirational quotes and phrases, and I always end up stopping to pause and reflect on words I've read so often but somehow in that context they mean more.  Today was 1 Corinthians 13 spread out through a large 3x6 black and red panel, and each part of the chapter spoke to me.  Love is patient.  Love is kind.  Love always TRUSTS.  Hmm...trusts?  Yes, always. Sometimes difficult.  Always PROTECTS.  Protects...yes, definitely hard as well but reassuring.  I read through the others with a similar pause, evaluating my own attempts to love and others toward me.  Fail, ok, sorta...  Then I got to the end and was reminded of LOVE NEVER FAILS.  Never.  Ah, yes, now that was Agape love.  I fail all of the time.  We all do.  But Agape love?  God's love never fails.  In that moment, I was reassured.  I knew it but needed the reminder today.  Praise God that He loves on us in some of the strangest ways, even in the middle of a craft store.
