Half-Marathon 2009

So, I have to brag on myself today, because I am so proud to say that I have officially worked out consistently for 5 days in a row this week.  2 miles Sunday, 3 miles Tuesday, 4 on Wednesday, 4 on Thursday, and 3 today...and my body is not aching as if I've severly punished it!

Had I been able to say that a year ago, I would have thought I was crazy.  I never really enjoyed running.  I definitely like variety and don't like tracks.  And tennis was always year-round anyway.  But there's something about the real world that makes it more appealing...and just being able to go and go that brings some new excitement out of me.  It is so incredibly therapeutic!  And not to mention helps me sleep and work off my candyblog treats.

My friend Ann and I are training for a half-marathon in January...which is what started all this running ruckus.  I'm excited and look forward to the challenge.  The furthest I have ever run all at once was the 10K, 6.2 mile run in the Spring.  This will be double that distance, but its amazing how much more feasible that seems now that my brain has wrapped around the fact that I can actually run 6.2.  What's a few more miles after that, right?
