So I have had quite a few blonde moments throughout my life, but I think this one just might top them all...
I was in the restroom at work when one of the women on the janitorial staff came in. I have said hello to her a few times, so I knew that she spoke limited English. Since it was around Christmastime, I thought I'd wish her a Merry Christmas and thank her. So I said, "Gracias y Feliz Cumpleanos!" Now, I hadn't used my Spanish in a long time, but I thought for a minute, and this is what came to mind. She looked at me confused, so I said it again, "Feliz Cumpleanos!" Again, she shook her head and furrowed her eyebrows. I paused in frustration, then realizing what I had said, I laughed and said, "Oh! Lo siento...Feliz Navidad!" She smiled, finally recognizing what I was trying to say and said, Gracias, then turned around, leaving me and probably laughing at the silly blonde poorly attempting to speak her language. :)
