Today is another one of those days. It's Saturday, and I don't have any plans at all for the evening. I'm so excited! I really do enjoy having things on my calendar and getting out into the world of everything, but everyone, even the most extroverted conversationalist there is, needs a day every now and then to be where they just are. There is something about stopping to breathe, to listen, and to be.
I'm sitting here listening to piano compilations by Jon Schmidt. There aren't any words, just music, beautiful music, that keeps the thoughts flowing and makes them dance out of my head and into this little colorful box. My favorite is "Love Story meets Viva la Vida". It just makes you want to dance around in circles and wave your hands as if you are a composer of your own destiny.
What to say of this past summer? I went on many trips: Dallas, the lake, Austin, New Braunfels, and CHICAGO! I saw Phantom of the Opera and Wicked, both Broadway musicals, and swooned as George Strait serenaded us at Reliant Stadium with 20 of his famous ballads. I survived 41.45 miles on a bike ride with my dad. I experienced brief relationship thrill, temporary insanity, and true reconciliation and confrontation done well. I unintentionally ended the life of my favorite plant, a small red cedar that I received via postal tube (a free offer for buying the movie Wall-e). And oh yes, I moved into a new apartment and continue the never ending task of decorating, organizing, and settling into life here. My roommate and I are getting along splendidly. She shares my passion for recycling and is adventurous enough to try some of my cooking concoctions. Which reminds me, I was going to whip up some cookies to nibble on while catching up on my Disney movie viewing. (I have never seen Dumbo OR The Sword and the Stone all the way through!) So I think it's time to put my kitchen and intuition to use. (Hmm...can you put your intuition to use or does it just come? I think it just comes, but then again, you have to acknowledge it and "put it to use" in order to recognize it.)
Nevertheless, bliss here I come: an evening in with doing nothing but everything.
